Over Christmas break I picked up several beginner's crochet books for the girls at the library, and gave them a huge bag of random yarn.
Patie really took a shine to crochet (she loves to count.) She crochets all. the. time. now, and has really improved her technique- it's a lot more even than it used to be.
Last weekend she came up with the design for this bag herself, and finished it by Sunday night.
I thought it was a fantastic first attempt at anything beyond a scarf, potholder, or bracelet.
