A New Order

Last Tuesday I knew I would be glued to the TV all morning along with millions of other people, so I decided to couple that with a project I've been needing to finish.

So while America got a new president, I gutted my kitchen cabinets and put it all back together again.

I started by taking EVERYTHING out.
Then I sorted, tidied up, and put everything back.
Some went into storage bins and baskets above the cabinets. And the most needed and used of the bunch all got put back into it's rightful place in the cupboard.I kept a running list of what went into each basket and bin, each of which was labeled 1-6.Now those lists are taped inside a cupboard door, for reference.
A more perfectionist organizer would have made nicer lists, and printed them out, or even broken out a label maker, you know how they are. (OK, I secretly want to be one of them. But I just can't get myself that organized.)And now it's all back together again- everybody say AHHHHH.

Oh man! What a job! Something I need to do to my kitchen as well. I'm just starting to run out of gas with this little babe coming soon. However, I'm banking on the "nesting" thing and pray I get a whole lot done. :) Otherwise, I'm calling Merry Maids! Your kitchen looks great Megan!

You are one hard worker! I've got to know, did the kiddos get into all the stuff you took out of the cabinets? I don't know that I could do get anything done with my little helpers running around:)

I am super organized but I think you are more organized than me. I really need to organize my cabinets again.

I think your kitchen is wonderful! I have to admit I am an organizational nut and enjoy making lists and list of my lists! Oh! And I like your bar stools? Did you get them at at Christmas Tree shop? I just saw some there. And how often do you have to clean the top of your cupboards? Or is that too personal to ask?! ;-)

I feel happier just thinking about your kitchen. Can you come over and do mine? Putting it all back away is the problem. I'm great at hauling it all out.

these big projects can be such a relief to finish...even with all the work, it is almost fun, knowing the rewards that you will reap! :-)

You have a beautiful Kitchen. I'm the same way when it comes to cleaning/organizing. I have to take EVERYTHING out or put everything into piles and then go from there. It must feel so refreshing.

Want to come help me do my kitchen next? :) It's such a good feeling to get much more organized!

Although I have a total of 5 cabinets and three drawers to put all my pots, pans, dishes and food in. Doesn't work so well!

Your kitchen is fantastic, by the way! :)

Wow Megan. Just wow. I love the order. I love order. I just am not as good at it as you are. You have so many bins! Not I, not I.
