Jim, Hudson and I went to Sioux Falls this weekend to finalize a place to live- more on that later this week. Grandpa and Grandma came to our house to spend the weekend with the girls, so the trip was really easy for us.
We had a great time, and the fact that we're really moving is starting to sink in. Sioux Falls is full of old memories for me, and now we look ahead to all the new ones we'll make there. I'm excited for all the museums, fun parks to explore, a great zoo, lunches downtown- and wonderful things come to the Washington Pavillion all the time. I saw the city with new eyes this weekend, since I've never lived there as a mother- the network and rescources for homeschooling families in Sioux Falls are awesome, and the city is filled with kid-friendly parks and activities. Oh, and did I mention that I'll only be 4 hours from IKEA?
Speaking of shopping, it was freezing cold this weekend. I mean, seriously, seriously cold. So, our Saturday was spent hanging out at the mall. We checked everything out, ate some Cinnabon, had coffee, and of course shopped at every store I'm excited for, that we don't have in Rapid City- Macy's, Bed Bath and Beyond, Linens n Things, etc. We had so much fun just being together, without the typical schedule we need to follow at home. Jim and I also had an opportunity to have dinner with some people from Jim's new company, which was fun- he'll be working with some really great people and I'm excited for him. It helped everything seem more real to me when I was able to actually meet the people that had hired him and match faces with names.
Sunday we did a little more shopping, ate at Panera Bread and headed home. We've set a moving date- a week from this Wednesday, and Jim will start working on February 25. I know the possibility of me getting anything moving-related done at home alone with the kids is...slim. So, I'll just save all of that for this weekend, and until then, I'll maintain denial status.

It all sounds so exciting! It sounds like you are planning on homeschooling? There's a big Christian homeschooling group in SF, and they are great--I have a lot of friends involved in it.
Also, if you go to MOPS, the one at Faith Baptist is awesome! I used to go to that one, and Lara is there as well.
How great that you got to scope out the area! Sounds like a really nice trip with your boys. Hopefully some of your family and friends can come help you pack up your home! Since moving is pure chaos, I'd stay in denial as long as possible too. ;-)
We're sorry to see you go. Do you need any boxes? I have some stashed away.
That's a really great photo of Jim and Hudson. Hudson is adorable!
As for the pregnant pictures on facebook, my bro requested them. I'm not sure I agree with the "ridiculously gorgeous" part though.
