I hate shrimp. I can't stand the sight, smell, texture of shrimp. Or most seafood. But especially the crustaceans.

I made up my mind to make shrimp myself. Just once. So I of course turned to Cooks Illustrated, found a wonderful Garlic Basil Shrimp recipe, and got to.

It was a success. It tasted "great", like it should. Like, if you like shrimp, this is your thing. For sure.

But, it's official. I hate shrimp. I winced my way through my tidy portion, holding the front for my kids- all but one LOVED it- and I did it. I ate shrimp.

For the last time.

You and my 5-year old would get along super well. He hates shrimps and even if I cut them to small pieces and hide them under other food, he would find out somehow. He picks up pieces of shrimp and gives them to his sister, who LOVES shrimps (like me!)

I'm definitely trying this recipe. Basil & shrimp & garlic -perfect!

On another note --thank YOU so much for your feedback on my photo for Constructive Feedback Friday. I really appreciate it. I'll get applying some of the edits you mentioned. :)

I am with you 100%!!!!

shrimp...heck ANYTHING from the sea I do NOT do.

I have a NASTY fish taco story from some friends that recently made some... I'll just type one word:

You are a far braver woman than I because I couldn't even bring myself to pay actual money for shrimp that I know I will hate.
I give you major kudos for trying it.

I will never try it even, and with your testimony of equal hatred for it my mind is most definately made up! It will never enter my home. :)
