Ask Megan *Updated*

*Ya'll are so sweet! What fun questions! I'll let them keep coming for another day and then hopefully take some "Me" time this weekend to sort them out and answer some next week! Sometimes, I don't realize what "I" do, so it's fun to think of how I'd answer!*

OK, you're on to me. I'm still not on my feet this week. Can I get a sista to say a hearty AMEN?

I even recycled an old picture for this. Talk about low-effort. Something's happening tonight that will for sure birth a post for Friday.

BUT...

My lack of extra time this week did spark a new idea. OK, a last minute, What am I going to post??? idea.

Do you want to know something? Anything? My character was built strong by years of retail in college. I was taught, if someone asks and I don't know, I'd better find the answer, and do it sweetly and right quick.

Do you want to know something about me? Anything? Or, do you just have a question in general, unrelated to me at all? I'd love to answer your questions. SO, I'm putting my (humble) services out there. My daily routine, my faith, my marriage, mothering stuff, what frustrates me, my favorite color, time saving tips, things I do that waste my time, my most common failures, why gas prices are so high, you name it. I'll try to find an answer for you. My hope is, I'll learn something in the process, and if you think my answers are insufficient, or just lame, it's cool- I can't hear you laughing from here. Go Ahead- Ask Me Anything. I'm dying to know what you're dying to know.

Oh, and to ice that cake, if you post a comment on this post, I'll add your name to a drawing and the winner will receive one personalized piece of glass-etched... something- you can decide, and I'll work with you. But, you have to post a comment on this post, sometime between now and Sunday night. If I get ten or more NEW commentors on this post, I'll do a separate drawing just for the newbies, and give away two prizes. De-lurk, sweet lurkers, and you just might get etched. You don't have to be a blogger to leave a note, it's easy to do- just click the comment link below this post, the one that says how many people said hello.

Ask Away!

HI Megan!

Okay, here goes. I wanna know how much harder four is than three was, three was than two was? These are the things that I wonder. Also, do your kids come out of bed in the morning on their own, or do you go and get them? And if you go and get them, how in heavens name did you initiate that rule?

Okay, I've exceeded my alloted questions.

Happy "Ask Megan" Day!

I'd do just about anything for a cool piece of etched glass!

So... inquiring minds want to know...

How old are you? ANd did you grow in in MN?

Alright - my turn ... as a soon-to-be newlywed, I want to know - what has been the most interesting challenge of married life and how do you make it work?

Megan,
With 4 children, how in the world do you have time to host a blog daily? (And one that's so well written!)

Unknown said...

Oh, I thought of one more:
What has been the scariest time in your life up to this point?

Oh Megan! How fun!!!

Alright - I'm not feeling uber creative yet today, so I may come back later & ask more questions...but....here's the start....

Tell us the story of meeting Jim.

Where did you go to school?

Is four it - or will be there be more sweet babies (maybe why you're so tired???) for you???

You have $10,000 and you can't chuck any of it into savings. Tell us how you'd spend it.

What church do you belong to?

Alright - I asked too many - I promise I won't come back with more later!!!

oooh I want to know what Kim asked!

My question is, what devotional book(s) do you use during your quiet time with God? Also what denomination is the church you go to? And finally, ten years ago when you accepted Christ, what made you make that decision? (someone witness to you, a hard time, stumbled into Church?) am I allowed three questions? Mine might be a good one to answer to help witness to others! (look at me working it to get mine answered!)

oh I have another but I'll post it on my blog today. I would love your input though!!

Ok, ummm... questions...
Where did you work retail? Did you like it (I always hated it and wonder if anybody actually like it)?
What kind of camera do you use and what photo-editing software do you use? Have those already been answered somewhere? Oh, well, I'm asking em anyway :)

Well, I have a million questions but they'll have to wait until I get back from my vacation. So for starters, do you have any tips on decorating a little girl's room? We are looking for something very simple and basic, there is currently no theme at all, and the room is very small. If I am more organized when I get back, I will take some "before" pictures for you and you can give me some great ideas!!!!

Hey Megan...

I noticed you get up really early for your quiet time and coffee. What time do you actually go to bed then?
Does Jim still chew the green Extra gum? :) (He was always the gum guy in school)
What is your absolute favorite meal to cook?
I'd really like to hear Kim's answers too!!

I ditto Kim. I'm so curious about from 2-3 and from 3-4. I know you told me once that 3rd came your like why not keep on going?! Heehee. I love that.
Seriously though, I'm wondering how I will hold unto my sanity, and be as cool and with it as you are with 4 under 6!!!
I'm curious to your retial experiences because I have oh so many as wel. :) I think I've worked at like over 20 places in my life. YIKES!
can't wait!

Wow, so many questions. What to ask and how to answer them all? I guess you have some ready made posts!

Yeah, I wanna know what time you get up b/c I just can't imagine that you actually post at 4am.

Do you have any pictures of any awkward adolecent years? I heard your husband has a picture of you from the 4th grade... Maybe a return to the growing up years would be fun. :)

Megan said...

Haha, "Anonymous"...ahem.

You know, I made a promise to myself if anyone asked for embarrasing photos from the past, I couldn't post them unless I posted a wonderful video of my husband from his junior high years, when he played a pirate who just wants to "sing and dance" in a 4 H play...

So, sorry, I guess I can't make that wish come true.

I would like to know how you keep your sanity as a mother. I find myself losing mine on a daily basis. What ideas do you have for eating healthy on a very LOW budget. What is your favorite thing to do when you have a break from the kids.

Oooh fun!!

I am dying to know after your comment on my blog: what have been the biggest challenges in your marriage and do you have any advice on overcoming them?

And, how soon after you got married did you start your family? How did you and your husband deal with re-balancing your relationship and getting used to it not being just the two of you?

Okay, I guess one more: any sneaky ways to work in fruits and veggies into meals so that my veggie-phobe husband will eat more green things??

Do you ever let Mr. T.V. babysit? Even a little bit? lol.

Kiki said...

Oh man, I delurked yesterday for those sweet baby feet! Oh well.

I am dying to know: What do you eat in the kitchen that you don't let your children see?

Jenn Boerger said...

I've been thinking about this even before today: What is your "routine"?? How do you stay organized and on top of things in your home?? Do you have a schedule of when things get done, do you write it down or just remember? these things don't come naturally for me, and I'd love to know how you do it, and mostly tips for how I could. You always inspire me to be a better mommy and wife!

hey, IT'S MY TURN! i can't believe i'm #23 on this list!

Um...let's see...my question is: What did you 'ALMOST' name your kids...like your #2 choice?

And...one more, let me think...

What books did you read about parenting styles/philosophies? What did you learn in these? What do you implement and not implement from them?

I know...that last one is loaded! :-) BUT, inquiring minds want to know.

Annika said...

humm. this is fun, maybe you should come up with a list and have everyone answer questions about themselves on their blog :)
Lets see, do you homeschool? Are you planning on it? What is your favorite indulgence?

Anonymous said...

First of all let me say that I absolutely love your blog! It is so well written and your photos are beautiful.

Now, for my question...Do you find homeschooling to be difficult? What qualities do you think a mom needs to have to effectively homeschool her children? Do you homeschool all of your children or do some of them attend school outside of the home?

I am considering homeschooling my 3 children and I am picking the brains of everyone I run across that homeschools!
