You Know You're Married to an Engineer If...

This scene played out at our house early last Sunday morning...

I was sitting outside our bedroom in the living room drinking coffee and reading. The alarm went off in our room. Jim's a heavy sleeper so it usually takes him a while to hear it, but, if I were to go in and shut it off and try to wake him up myself, he wouldn't really be awake, and he'd just go back to sleep. So I let it go. For over ten minutes. He finally shuts it off and makes his way out to where I am. Then the following conversation went down...

Me: It took you forever to shut that off.

The Engineer: Yeah. I was really asleep. It was one of those dreams where you insert the alarm sound into what you're already dreaming about.

Me: Nice.

The Engineer: I dreamed it was a malfunctioning scoreboard and I had to take it apart to find out what was wrong.

Me: Did you take it apart properly? (Of course he did.)

The Engineer: Of course.

There you go, ladies and gentlemen. I was subjected to a blaring alarm for over ten minutes while The Engineer properly took apart a "scoreboard".

I love The Engineer. I'm just sayin'...

Ha, funny. My husband is similar. He frequently doesn't even hear the alarm and when he does he fumbles for it, turns it off, goes back to see and is consequently always late.

Thanks for checking my blog =). It makes me feel good. Oh, and I did get the stat counter - it's just invisible b/c I couldn't figure out how to put the icon somewhere that wasn't really big. Your's is nice b/c it's at the bottom of your page.
