Money Monday!

Welcome to another week, everyone! This week's Money Monday will be short and sweet, but, it's a good one. I dedicate this post to Kelly, who introduced me to this site.
Have you ever heard of Freecyle? They're a nonprofit movement that works to combat waste and the filling of landfills by hooking people who have stuff to give away up with people who want free stuff. It's very simple. There are over 4,000 groups around the world, and it's run by local volunteers. For instance, if you visit their site you can search to see if there is a Freecyle group in your area. If so, you can join for free and become a part of their network. You will view a list of hundreds of items, all local, that people want to give away. You can of course also list things yourself. The item is given to the first person to contact the giver and come pick up the item. It's all free, it's just that easy. So, if you have a couch you want to get rid of, and you'd rather bless someone than go to the trouble of an ad in the paper or wait for the right time to have a garage sale, you can put it on Freecyle, and no doubt someone will gratefully grab up that couch. You can find absolutely anything in your local listings, from kid stuff to makeup to things left over from someone's bathroom remodel. Check it out today!

I love freecycle.

I do however find myself annoyed by posts like "Wanted Highchair: I need a high chair for my baby ASAP!" Well, then go to all the garage sales that are this weekend instead of feeling entitled to have some stranger GIVE you one.

Is that just me?

Oh that sounds so neat! Maybe we can get rid of our couch that way.

Jessica, you make me laugh! I do know what you mean though.

Daniel and I were just talking about this the other night. We had found it in Vermont, but haven't taken the time to check it out here, yet. Oh, but we will! Especially AFTER our garage sale. Because you now, you never sell everything! :)
